Reg Carter
Reg Carter was 13 when the war started and lived in
Littlehampton. He had a number of engineering jobs during the war
including working for Southern Aircraft in Three Bridges and at
Shippams in Chichester. He joined the Navy when he was 17 and
went abroad, to the Mediterranean, in early 1945, returning in
late 1946. Reg remembers air raids, rationing and gas
masks.
