Learn about seaside holidays in the past

Children playing on the beachThis area provides free downloadable resources for Key Stage 1 teachers working on the history of the seaside.

Most of the resources are scanned copies of original photographs and pictures from the early 19th century to the 1970s of West Sussex seaside resorts, plus some text documents.

There are 8 main topics. Each topic has between 8 and 12 images plus Teachers' Notes. The Source gallery has all of the above resources, plus around 50 more images, all searchable.
