Wartime West Sussex 1939-45

Noel Weeden

Noel Weeden was 18 at the start of the war and lived in London. He had been in the Territorial Army for two years by 1939 and became part of the London Rifle Brigade. His job was to go round Britain on a motorbike to ascertain whether “downed” aircraft was British or German. In 1941 he spent some time in Sussex, near East Grinstead, being trained before he was sent abroad. Noel talks about his war experiences.
