This lady was 4 years old and living in Horsham when war broke out. Her father was stationed in Yorkshire and was also involved in the Dunkirk evacuations. She remembers air raids in Horsham, rationing and Canadian soldiers. She used to give cigarettes to prisoners of war (POWs) in exchange for wooden toys they made. The end of the war was a huge relief.
