Jill Tait
Jill Tait was 2 when the war started and lived in Strood, near
Rochester, in Kent. Her father was a maths teacher and his school
was evacuated to a camp in Ashdown Forest, near East Grinstead.
Jill and her mother also moved and lived in a house close by. Her
father was called up in 1942 and after that the family moved back
to Kent.
