Jean Ogilvie

Jean Ogilvie was 21 when the war started and living in London. She was evacuated to Kent where she met her husband and nursed soldiers from the Dunkirk evacuation. Later she moved to Bosham to live with her mother-in-law and remembers the pilots from Tangmere airfield which was close by. Jean remembers preparations for D-Day and seeing the bombing raids on Portsmouth. The wartime spirit of people helping each other is her happiest memory of the war.
