Catherine 'Kit' Punnett

Catherine "Kit" Punnett was 23 when war broke out and was living in Rotherhithe, London where she remembers heavy bombing. She got married in 1941 and shortly after her husband went away to war and she didn't see him for four years.

Kit joined the Women's Land Army at the end of 1941 and was sent to Shipley in West Sussex in early 1942 where she stayed for a month before being sent to Buckinghamshire and later to Kent.
